General Abstract Submission Guidelines

Part I – Applicable to Award Papers, Free Papers & E-Posters

Last date for submission: 15 November 2026

These general guidelines apply to every scientific submission for PEDICON 2027 – Award Papers, Free Papers and E-Posters. Please read them together with the category-specific guidelines before submitting your abstract.

1. Eligibility & Compliance

  • Specialty Focus: Scientific work must relate to Pediatrics or allied specialties.
  • Presenting author is responsible for scientific integrity.
  • Membership and conference registration requirements vary by submission category; see Section 5 below.
  • Must strictly comply with IAP and PEDICON policies.

2. Ethics & Originality

  • Original work only (no fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or duplicate submission).
  • Must strictly comply with IAP and PEDICON policies.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) approval and informed patient consent documents must be submitted in person if selected for a prize. The Scientific Committee bears no responsibility or liability in the event of non-compliance, disputes, or missing documentation.

3. Abstract Structure & Formatting

  • Word Limit: Maximum 300 words (1750 characters).
  • Keywords: 3. Mandatory
  • Research Structure: Background → Objectives → Methods → Results → Conclusion.
  • Case Report Structure: Background → Case Description → Investigations → Management → Outcome → Learning Points.

4. Declarations & Authorship

  • Conflict of Interest (COI) declaration mandatory. (If none: ‘The authors declare no conflict of interest.’)
  • AI Declaration required if used for language editing / formatting.
  • Clearly identify Presenting Author, Corresponding Author, Principal Investigator (PI), Guide & First Author.

5. IAP Membership & Conference Registration

  • Award Papers & Free Papers: IAP membership and conference registration are mandatory for submission, subject to the postgraduate guidelines in Section 6.
  • E-Posters: Conference registration is mandatory for submission. Non members must apply for IAP membership on or before 20 November 2026 for their submission to be considered for evaluation, subject to the postgraduate guidelines in Section 6.

6. Attention PG Students: Abstract Submission Guidelines

Postgraduate students who have not yet registered for the conference or do not currently hold an IAP Life/Associate Membership can still submit their abstracts for PEDICON 2027. For the initial submission, only a Bonafide Certificate from your Head of Department (HOD) is required.

Please note: If your abstract is accepted by the scientific committee, you must complete both your Conference Registration and IAP Membership within 20 days of acceptance to remain eligible to present your paper.

7. Submission & Committee Policies

  • Editing permitted until submission deadline only.
  • Withdrawal permitted only before reviewer allocation.
  • Change of Presenting Author requires prior Scientific Committee approval before notified deadline.
  • Scientific Committee reserves rights to reject, reclassify, transfer, modify category, or request revisions.
